- A highly coloured and decorative certificate from the Colonial and Indian Exhibition held in London in 1886. The allegorical figures depicted represent, from right to left, Britannia who is seated and has 2 attendants by her side. One holds aloft an eternal flame while the other spins a thread from her distaff, possibly representing the connecting thread of the Empire. Australia is in the centre of the illustration, accompanied by Canada, India and perhaps New Zealand. To their left stand a group of women representing other individual colonies. A decorative border surrounds the image and contains the names of all colonies represented at the Exhibition.
