- Income statement of Unemployment and Sickness Benefits issued to Julius Toth by the Commonwealth of Australia in April 1957. The statement has been filled in with dates but no other details. Julius arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 22 March 1957, leaving Hungary after the failed revolution of 1956 and subsequent Soviet occupation. On arrival he met Hungarian Joseph Tolney who offered Julius and two other Hungarian immigrants board and assistance finding work. Julius found work at Jacques Bros Ltd, although following some misunderstandings with the union he had to leave. After tying unsuccessfully to find employment in various foundries in his trade (moulding) he accepted a job in a scrap metal yard, although he later found a job as a die-caster at Joseph Lucas Pty Ltd.
