Army green pair of shoe covers designed to go over shoes for workers in ammunition factory issued to workers during World War II. Overshoes like these were intended to minimise the danger of sparks from leather shoes on the floor creating a fire hazard. - Description:
- Army green pair of shoe covers designed to go over shoes for workers in ammunition factory. Leather shoe has felt underneath, probably to add strength to the covers. Felt covering feet is in two pieces, stitched down the centre and where the heel would go. Inner piece of material has extra strap with fastening onto button on the panel. Felt stitched into leather. Tied together with piece of string and label.
