- Summary:
- Large oval white paper wine bottle label, used at H.W.H Irvine's winery at Great Western, 1905-1918. The label has a gold border and depicts prize medals and the Irvine crest.
The lablel is printed in gold, red and black ink and reads: "Irvine's gold medal pure vintage London International 1873 Paris International 1900 Australian wines "Shirazo" Sweet wine. Hans Irvine & Co. Dowgate Hill. London, E.C. and Victoria, Australia".
Shirazo is a sweet red wine similar to port. This type of label was attached to the front of large, squat, oval glass bottles. Bottles of Shirazo had blue foil tops with two red bands. - Description:
- Large oval, white paper label, bordered in gold and printed in black red and gold inks. Depicts prize medals and the Irvine crest.
