- Large pale yellow rectangular wine bottle label used at H.W.H. Irvine's Great Western winery, 1905-1918. The label features the Irvine family crest flanked to the left by a reproduction of a gold medal.
The label is printed in black, gold and blue ink and reads: "Irvine's gold medal pure vintage Australian wines. Perthonia-Red Hermitage. Hans Irvine & Co. Dowgate Hill, London, E.C. & Victoria, Australia".
This type of label was attached to the front of small, cylindricall glass bottles. Bottles of Perthonia Red had red foil tops with two green bands. - Description:
