Slip of paper with copy of Parish records which list the dates the proclamation of banns occurred for Robert and Christina Panton. The proclamation of banns is the announcement of a forthcoming marriage, which is read in church on three Sundays preceding the marriage (sometimes multiple announcements for the same were made on the one day, lessening the number of Sundays). Christina married Robert Panton, an agricultural labourer in 1939. They made arrangements through the British Colonial Land and Emigration Office to emigrate to Port Phillip in 1851-52. The family was struck by tragedy shortly after arriving, Christina and two of their young children died within three months.
