Bottle containing codeine tablets used in the pharmacy of a mental health hospital in Victoria, Australia, circa 1935. Manufactured by Felton, Grimwade & Duerdins Ltd. Codein is an analgesic with similar uses to those of morphine but has only mild sedative effects.
Drug is contained in a small, brown glass bottle with oval base, straight sides, short neck with cork. Contents discarded by Conservation 1996. Minor residues only remain on the interior.
