Wine Bottle - Kay Bros, McLaren Vale, Phar Lap Big Red Shiraz, 1976 Object Reg. No: SH 880080

This shiraz wine bottle was given to the donor at a pre-Melbourne Cup party, sponsored by Telecom, during the 1980 Spring Racing Carnival.

The party was to raise funds for the Phar Lap Appeal, which was organised by the then National Museum of Victoria and the Victoria Racing Club, to raise funds for the Museum. All the guests at the party received a bottle of this wine.
750ml brown glass wine bottle, with a white paper label attached to the front, and the remains of a white plastic seal around the neck of the bottle. Printed on the label is an image of a horse and jockey running in a race.

The bottle originally contained wine, but is now empty.

I have a bottle 2/3 full of original contents with slightly damaged lid and label, but unopened of 1976 Phar Lap Big Red. I am interested in its value.

I also have a bottle with a cracked lid which is 3/4 full of the original wine. Would you be able to tell me what it is worth or point me in the direction of someone who could?
