Green cloth helmet or hat, lined with synthetic fur. Manufactured by the Commonwealth Government Clothing Factories for ANARE and issued to Australian geologist Ian Macleod for use in Antarctica on the 1965 expedition.
This is part of Museum Victoria's collection of artefacts from the modern era of scientific exploration of Antarctica. - Description:
- Ski cap, with crown of six pieces; peak stitched; neck piece and ear flaps in gabardine, lined with brown synthetic fur. Flaps fasten in front with metail fasteners - two on right side (for adjustment) and one on left side.
