Summary:
Artwork 'Rainbow Over Melbourne' by Martha Ash, circa 1995. Martha Ash was born in Poland in 1920 and lost all her family in the Holocaust. She came to Australia in 1949 where she studied ceramics, sculpture silver smithing, enamelling and glass mosaics. She usually worked without sketches or drawings and her work often reflected the images, colours and experiences of her environment and past. She died in September 1996.
Description:
Enamel picture in three parts. Shows a rainbow above houses with a garden at the bottom. It is mounted on a smooth dark brown board with gold edging. The back has a metal hook and wire for hanging, there are metal reinforcing pieces in each corner of the frame, and plastic pieces under the back edging.
