- Black and white photograph depicting the horse Night Raid, which was the sire (father) of champion race horse Phar Lap.
It belonged to the donor's father, Mr Jim Shaw (1908-1992), who worked for AF Roberts, the thorough breeder who produced Phar Lap in Timaru. In 1929 Shaw became his stud manager when the operation was moved to Katurna Valley, where this photograph was taken in 1932. - Description:
