Painting - F.M.Collingridge, Phar Lap, Oil, 1930s Image Reg. No: SH 950210

This small oil painting is significant as a contemporary interpretation of Phar Lap by a professional artist.

F. M. Collingridge was described by researchers in the Arts Library of the State Library of Victoria as 'a minor painter of horses.'
Framed oil painting, showing the head of a horse against a background of a white painted paling fence, white painted railings and a red hill. The painting is signed 'F.M.Collingridge' in the bottom right hand corner. The painting is framed in a gold-painted wooden frame. The wording 'Phar Lap' is painted on a cardboard label stuck to the frame at the bottom of the painting.
