Summary:: Straight stitcher sewing machine, made by Jones, England, Model HS6, Serial No. 20905, 1920s.

Used at Simpson's Gloves Pty Ltd, Richmond in the upstairs workroom.

Simpson's Gloves Pty Ltd was formed in 1924 and produced leather gloves and coats, handbags, helmets and associated leather goods. The company first operated in Smith Street, and subsequently Alexandra Parade, Collingwood, relocating to Victoria Street, Richmond in 1928, where it remained until 1988.
Description:: Painted black with gold scroll work on body.

Hi there Tanya. We haven't been able to pin down the exact date but have found this website, which may help with an approximate age. It mentions serial #35259, dated to c1883. Therefore it seems that yours might be prior to this. You might want to compare the design of your machine with those on the site. Another website you might find interesting is this history of the company.

Hi I have a Jones Treadle sewing machine in perfect order but I cant seem to find in anywhere on the internet The serial number is 193823 If you could help me with my search that would be very much appreciated.

HI, I have a Jones treadle no serial no. on it, all thats on the machine is Jones - C.B Est 1859 Made in England, did these have a zipper foot attachment or can I get one. thanks sue
