Peep Show - Museum Victoria, Phar Lap Winning the 1930 Melbourne Cup,1985 Reg. No: SH 860257
- This thin card peep show is an example of the Phar Lap related merchandise sold in the Museum of Victoria shop in the 1980s. It was sold as a kit to be assembled at home.
The peep show was designed by David Lancashire, written by Garrie Hutchinson and illustrated by Fay Planka for the Museum of Victoria, as part of the merchandise for the SIO Great Exhibition of Victoria in 1985.
- Peep show has been assembled, and consists of four cardboard sides, glued together, and three inner scenery panels, which all have large irregular holes cut in them. On the front of the scenery panels, and around the interiors of the sides are printed coloured drawing of Phar Lap, Flemington Racecourse and the crowds watching the race. In the middle of the front is a large viewing hole.
