- Pair of silver slingback woman's sandals, made by Holmes. Worn at the Toorak, Melbourne, wedding of the donor, Christabel Mattingley. She was married on 12 December 1953.
Christabel's wedding dress is reg. no. SH94.379. The bridal party included a bridesmaid dressed in pink - see dress SH 93.1057. The donor is an author of children's books. - Description:
- Block-heeled silver slingback style sandals with narrow straps. The heels are approx. 6cm high and block style. The upper soles are in taupe col- oured leather with pinked edges. The slingback straps are narrow and in silver leather with a silver metal buckle on the side. Five criss-crossing narrow silver leather straps form the front foot area. The toe area is open in sandal style and is narrow and slightly rounded.
