Washboard made from wood and glass, circa 1920. Used in the laundry the psychiatric hospital, Mayday Hills Hospital located in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia.
Pine washboard with corrugated glass scrubbing surface. Well-worn. Top piece of wood has been split but the washboard continued to be used after this. One wooden 'leg' very worn.
