Souvenir booklet produced by the Vacuum Oil Company Pty. Ltd., printed by G.W. Green in 1934. The booklet was produced as part of the celebrations for the centenary of the white settlement of Victoria. The booklet comprises 8 pages, and includes sketches and photographs, some contrasting early scenes of Melbourne with contemporary images. The mood throughout is celebratory - the final sentence reads 'They lived hard and worked hard and the Melbourne of today is a fitting culmination to a century of striving of the descendants of such stalwart souls.' On the back of the book is some information about the Vacuum Oil Company Pty Ltd, the pioneer oil company of Australia.
The booklet has a brown cover, and is printed throughout in black, white and brown.
