Heavy cotton quilted strong dress worn by agitated or violent female patients in a mental health hospital in Victoria, Australia, circa 1900. The reinforced fabric made destruction of the garment difficult.
Blue (faded) very heavy cotton dress, lined and quilted. Has black stitching. Gathered skirt and waistband, round neck with stand-up collar. Back has eyelets to waist. Long sleeves.
