Dress - Prue Acton, Evening, Black Lace, circa 1980 Reg. No: SH 942061
- This dress was designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L circa 1980. This was the donor's dress, which was copied for her ready-to-wear range. The cobweb lace purchased in France, and made by a Japanese designer. Prue Acton was always looking for fabrics upon which to base her collections.
- Long sleeved black cobweb lace evening dress. The neckline is round and the shoulders and cuffs are heavily encrusted with imitation jet beading. The dress is fitted to mid thigh, then flares out from satin panels inset into the skirt. The back is fastened at the neck with one small black button, then slit to a zipper which runs from high waist to mid thigh. The black lace is fitted to a black satin underdress with shoestring shoulder straps.
