- Summary:
- Painted plaque used by Yoka Van Den Brink, 1994, to show the stages of the Hindeloopen craft techniques. Hindeloopen craft techniques date back to the 16th century, to the port of Hindeloopen, in Friesland in the North of Holland where sailors developed a decorative tradition of handpainting domestic items to add colour to the dark houses through winter. Motifs include flowers, scrolls, buds, birds and sometimes bible scenes and landscapes.
- Description:
- Painted plaque in dark green, with the main areas of colour in the floral motif have been filled in and the addition of some detailing of flowers in a lighter colour. The word bathroom has been pencilled in.
