Donated by Joanna Jones, delegate to the World Play Summit, Melbourne, 1993. Hand-made by her husband. Delegates to the World Play Summit were asked to bring a traditional toy from their own country.
Stuffed toy which forms part of the Australian Children's Folklore Collection (ACFC).
The ACFC is unique in Australia, documenting contemporary children's folklore across Australia and in other countries reaching back to the 1870s. The Collection has a strong component of research material relating to Victoria.

This is a toy which has been designed for getting rid of aggressive feelings. It is used by people from 3 years to adults.
Description:
American stuffed toy designed to release aggressive feelings. Cylinder of blue cloth, tightly stuffed with padding. Toy has a black textured plastic handle at one end with a padded handguard, covered with same blue cloth, like the handle of a sword. On the handguard is printed black text. The L of the bat is in the shape of someone's hands gripping a club. One of a pair. See 99.73.2 Acknowledgement: Australian Children's Folklore Collection, Museum Victoria.
