- Model of a Blondin apple. The Blondin is harvested in winter and is used in dessert cooking. This variety of apple is not in the 1974 edition of Ikin's listing of fruits.
This model is based on a specimen grown and presented by H.U. Cole, Shortland, Hawthorn, in 1875. The seedling was raised by Mr Cole and named after Blondin, who first visited Victoria in 1874. The model was made by museum artist Thomas McMillan in 1875 for display at the 1876 Centennial International Exhibition, Philadelphia.
