Museum Victoria Comment
Hi Mr Kahn. Unfortunately Museum Victoria can’t provide conservation advice. For advice on whether or not the watch would stand up to steam, you may wish to contact a horologist who specialises in old watches. Alternatively go to the website of the Australian Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Materials to search for an appropriate conservator who may also be able to advise you. http://www.aiccm.org.au/index.php?option=com_civicrm&view=Profiles&layout=search&Itemid=88
