- Cased pair of percussion duelling pistols, converted from flintlock, cal. 20 bore (.610 in.). Made by Michael Ransford, Dublin, circa 1750.
- Description:
- Muzzle loading, smooth bore, octagonal swamp barrel 9 1/2 in. (241 mm.) long, overall length 14 3/4 in. (375 mm.). Side lock & hammer, oval steel trigger guard with acorn forward extension, hair trigger. Wooden stock extends halfway along barrel with horn tip, steel butt cap, oval silver monogram plate inscribed with the initial "F", brass tipped wooden ramrod. Hammer missing from pistol
Fitted wooden case lined with green baize. Accessories: embossed powder flask, bullet mould & cleaning rod. - Acquisition Information:
