Apple Model - Calville Blanche D' Hiver, Hawthorn, 1872 Object Reg. No: ST 005017

This wax model was based on a specimen grown and presented to the museum by Mr.Cole, 1872. The model was probably made by a Mrs. O'Neill who frequently modelled for the donor.

Synonyms: White Calville, White Winter Calville. This apple is a cooking and dessert variety and is harvested in winter. This is a Victorian seedling raised by Mr. Thomas C. Cole of Hawthorn.This variety is not in Ikin's Listing of Fruits, 1974 edition.
