The Rural Life Centre at Tilford, Surrey, UK,
has an identical machine, serial no. 2473. Its anvil is missing, but replaced by one made of hardwood. It is NOT a ribbon type machine, but has a reservoir which inks a felt pad when the machine is closed; when the machine is opened the pad in turn inks the type.
