Reg. No: ST 022125
- Summary:
- Thomson galvanometer. Used at Melbourne Observatory
- Description:
- A form of Thomson glvanometer in which a simple magnetic system is used. The needle is controlled and held in its zero position by the combined action of the local field and magnet. The amount of the control and thus the sensitivity, as well as the position of the zero reading of the instrument may be altered by raising or lowering the curved magnet and turning it in azimuth.
- Acquisition Information:
- Transfer from Melbourne Observatory, 1945
