Wooden figure of a tradesman (painter) from Russia. The figure was gifted to the National Gallery in 1914 by Professor Netschaieffs, as part of a group of Russian folk art.
Description:
Figure of a tradesman, a painter, from Russia, on a base of turned wood painted grey and orange. The figure is painted wood wearing black boots, green pants, a purple shirt, white apron and yellow hat, he is holding a green bucket in his right hand and a long pole under his right arm.
