- Set of standard metric weights, gilt brass and platinum wire in wooden box. Made by Troughton & Simms, London, circa 1865.
Used at Melbourne Observatory. - Description:
- Weights comprise brass weights: 1 kilogram, 400, 300, 200, 100, 40, 30, 20, 10 grams each in brass cell. Platinum wire weights in small inner box: 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1, 0.04, 0.03, 0.02, 0.01 grams, and 0.1 rider. 5 ivory lifters and 2 forceps.
