This large 1:48 scale model was donated to the Museum in 1965 by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Newcastle in the UK, the original builders of the ship.

Dimension Comment: Overall model dimensions, checked 27 June 2007. Height includes two 1-inch dia mounting pins which have 65 mm of thread that would recess into the plinth or showcase base. Pins are positioned at 1725 mm centres with centre of front pin set 600 mm aft of extreme front end of model and centre of rear pin set 677 mm foreward of extreme stern end of model.
