- Wax model of a Esopus Spitzenburg apple, also known as Esopus Spitzenberg, Spitzenberg, and Esopus. This variety is a dessert apple, harvested in winter.
This model was based on a specimen grown and presented by Charles Draper of Hazelglen in 1875. The model was made by museum artists Thomas McMillan in 1875 for display at the 1876 Centennial International Exhibition, Philadelphia. The model was recoloured by Miss M. McMillan in March1917.
