Airship Model - Channel Winged Object Reg. No: ST 031421

This model of the 'Boston' Channel Winged airship built by George Gray of the New Zealand Model Airship Research Society. It was donated to the Museum in 1980. This model was built to promote the donor's enthusiasm for airship design and the airship itself was never constructed. The donor stated in a letter that he had been working on the concept of the channel-wing airship since 1966. The model had previously been displayed at Wigram RNZAF Base in 1979.
