- Summary:
- Case for a Besson Piano Accordion made by Stradello Dallape in Italy during the 1920s. This accordion was brought to Australia in 1932 by an Italian musician who used it in the band at the Yallourn S.E.C campus until 1943. It was then used by Bill Rowan until 1962, and in 1970 the accordion was given to Mr Paul Hoppe by his grandfather J. Baillie.
- Description:
- Travelling case for a piano accordion. The case is a rectangular shape with a curved lid, and is made from plywood which has been covered with black coloured leatherette. The interior of the case has been lined with green coloured felt like material. There is a cream coloured raw cotton-like material which has been adhered to the back and front bottom edges inside the case, to act as padding. There is a rectangular piece of blue/grey coloured carpet in the bottom of the case.
