- Primitive form of wooden hodometer or waysider with a metal wheel set in its framework that also contains a measuring dial. The device was used in surveying to measure distance. Made in England, circa 1810.
- Description:
- Hodometer features finely painted black & white dial marked in miles, yards & poles. Brass hands of dial are replacements. Iron rimmed wheel with turned wood spokes. Original painted wooden frame.
