Summary:
Gents pocket watch, Edward Prior, London, no 41657, circa 1814. Three silver outer cases, with pearl on stem and long silver plaited chain. Made in London for the Turkish market, with Turkish numerals.

Edward Prior was a London watchmaker of high repute, specialising in watches for Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. He worked between 1800 and 1868.
Description:
Three outer cases. First case is plain silver with engraved foliage in form of 8 pointed star. Second case is silver and tortoise shell. Third case is silver with London hallmark for 1814. Silver inner case has 1816 London hallmark. Long stem terminates in a pearl. Long silver plaited chain is attached.

White enamel dial has two circles of Turkish numerals. Inner ring for hours 1 to 12, outer for minutes 5 to 60.

Key wound spring; verge escapement. Fusee and chain.

HELLO I HAVE A PRIOR LONDON POCKET WATCH WITH NO SERIAL NUMBER ONLY MARK THAT HAVE INSIDE THE CASE 72 AND JL IT HAS ON THE DIAL BELOW THE 12 PRIOR AND ABOVE THE 6 LONDON PEASE IF YOU CAN HELPME TO IDENTIFY IT THANK YOU
