Collection of Components - E.T.C. Industries, Electrolytic Capacitor, 1941 Object Reg. No: ST 021686

Collection of parts used to demonstrate the construction of a wet electrolytic capacitor. Collection made and presented by E. T. C. Industries Ltd., Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in about 1941. This type of capacitor was used in power supplies for radios and other electronic applications.

The collection was mounted on a display board with ST 021685, presumably at the Science Museum in Swanston Street.
The collection consists of:
Complete electrolytic capacitor (8 microfarad), Minicap brand, wet type, also known as a condenser.
Empty can
Top seal of can
Rubber bush and terminal for bottom of can
Parts of internal insulating liner
Anode crimped up
Anode prior to being crimped
