Spectroscope by E. Ducretet & Co, Paris. Used at Melbourne Observatory.
Light from an illuminated slight is rendered parallel by the collimating lens and falls onto a prism where it is dispersed. The light is then viewed by means of the telescope in the focal plane of the eyepiece of which the spectrum is visible.
