The crystal set is still the simplest form of receiver for the reception of broadcast speech and music and were very popular in the 1930s as a much cheaper alternative to the relatively expensive valve radios, the downside was that headphones had to be used.
The set was donated to the Museum in 1972. - Description:
- Made using original terminals in the style of original sets. Inductively tuned galena crystal. Headphones used were 2000 OHMS.
