Opperman was only 20 when he won this race by a miniscule margin - and only 3 seconds behind the record fastest time.
The cup was presented by the Tasmanian Premier, before a crowd that included many members of the crew and officers from the H.M.S. Dunedin, who were extended invitations. - Acquisition Information:
