Other Details: This medal was struck to relpace medals featuring the head of Edward VIII who abdicated before his coronation in 1937. The detailed name and date of birth of the new King were intended to celebrate the Coronation.
Description:
An unissued bronze prize medal (54 mm diameter) featuring a head of George VI, crowned, facing left together with plaque on which details of his name and date of birth were engraved. The reverse features a standard rural image with animals, fruits and grains a tractor and the rising sun together with a plaque on which a winners name would have been engraved.
