This was the second issue in the name of George VI. No new design for the halfpenny reverse was approved until later in 1939, it and the sixpence of George VI continued the reverse forms of George V. The other denominations had new designs.

A bronze coin (25.5 mm diameter with plain edge) featuring a bare head of George VI facing left; around, GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP: ; below the head in small lettering the artist's initials HP. The reverse features, within a circle of beads, the words ONE HALF PENNY in three lines above a plain scroll; around the circle of beads, COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA . 1939 .

I have a question I have two of these coins one dating 1939 and the other 1943. I was just wondering how much these would sell for?

I have 1939 half penny with a ship on the face. On the back is george ivs vi d 2dots g 2dot sbr 2dots omn2dots rex f 2dots d 2dots ind hmr I have not been able to find this coin can you help? With many Thanks.
