Other Details: Littlejohn Memorial Award medal, not issued, made for the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales. In 1919 individual sections of the Australian Aero Club were formed in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. This medal commemorates pilot George Littlejohn, who with Charles Ulm and Leon Skilling was attempting to survey a route from Oakland, California, to Sydney in Airspeed A.S.6 Envoy VH-UXY Stella Australis on Dec. 4 1934 when the plane lost at sea off Hawaii. - Description:
- A large silver-plated medal (89 mm diameter) issued as a specimen. It features three bi-planes flying above a globe depicting Australia and gives details of the award.
