Summary:
Selenium (photovoltaic) exposure meter for microscopes. Inserted in eye piece position to take a reading, which is then converted to exposure settings using the rotational calculator provided. c1950s. Used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Limited, Parkville, Victoria.
Description:
Oblond dark wood box, varnished, housing black apparatus. Meter is black oblong, with two knobs and a flat raised section at the top housing the meter gauge. Black disk-shaped reader on a length of black cord connecting it to the meter. Black, flat square disk photovolt exposure calculator, with rotational gauge, inserted into custom slot in lid of box.
