It was commissioned from Emil Hafner ( whose name appears below the sun) and features a prisoner behind two strands of barbed wire with bamboo on the right and a large sun behind. The reverse shows a crowned shield featuring four strands of barbed wire and on the ribbon 'EX PRISONERS OF WAR ASSN'.

I am the designer of the Barbed Wire and Bamboo medallion, along with manny others. I would interested to know why the designers name does not appear here at all.
