Other Details: This bronze medal was awarded to Ferdinand von Mueller, former director of the Botanical Gardens and Victorian Government Botanist, for his services on behalf of Australian's international exhibitons. Mueller exchanged plant specimens with botanic gardens and museums around the world, and described thousands of Australian species. He was also an experienced hand at exhibitions. He was appointed a commissioner for the 1854 Melbourne Exhibition, and was involved in arrangements for the 1880-81 Melbourne International Exhibition. - Description:
- A large bronze medal (75 mm diameter) awarded for services to the Royal Commission, it features a head of Albert, Prince of Wales, and details of the award
