The company name was Siemens, Halske and Company, London. The instrument was delivered to Williamstown Observatory in 1860 and was always the primary chronograph used by Williamstown/Melbourne Observatory. The actual instrument and two of the tape reels have been in a working display at Melbourne Observatory since 1958.
