This photo is from the mid-1980's - quite clear from both the number plate and XE Falcon in the background...

Always thought the designer Fend, an aircraft engineer went to Messersmitt to build it; which was true in the earlier stages. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z16129/Messerschmitt-KR200.aspx
