Description Of Content:: Elevated view of 84 x 60-inch "Morgardshammar" double toggle jaw crusher manufactured under licence for Mt Isa Mines, May 1958.

The crusher has split side-frames which indicated that it was intended for underground installation, with the machine designed to be dismantled into sections smaller enough to be lowered down a mine shaft.
This was largest model of jaw crusher made in Australia. It weighted 240 tons and was capable of processing up to 1,000 tons of ore per hour.
Morgardshammar were a Swedish company who primarily made rolling mills for the steel industry. This is believed to have been the largest design of jaw crusher in the world at the time. About10 of these units were manufactured in Australia by Vickers Ruwolt.
