Other Details: Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee in 1897 was celebrated the great enthusiasm throughout the British Empire. It prompted many Australian local governments to issue commemorative medals. This medal was issued by the Shire of Bellarine, and names F.J. Pacey as President and A. M'Williams as Secretary. The Bellarine shire was proclaimed on 18 September 1865.

I was overwhelmed when I saw this today.
My Grandmother, Ruby Grace Jennings, was born in Bellarine 1899. Born to George Earnest and Mary Jane Jennings.I will treasure this web page as I treasure the memories of my Nana, If there is anything else in your Museum that I could see from this time, Please let me know. Thank you so much,
