The date range for this photograph is taken from a similar photograph of the Mr Harvie gardening with his daughter, Ellison Harvie, see MM 043216.

There are a number of photographs in the collection of the Harvie family in gardens, presumably at the family's various residential addresses. For the dates during which it is thought this photograph was taken, the family lived at three different addresses: 4 The Terrace, Malvern, from 1908 to 1911; 4 Inverness Ave, Malvern, from 1911 to 1913; and 27 Chanak Street, East Malvern, from 1913 onwards, however it is unclear at which address this photograph was taken.

Image most likely taken in the backyard of one of three residences the family lived at in Malvern during the period of 1910 - 1916, the family lived at 4 The Terrace, Malvern, from 1908 to 1911; 4 Inverness Ave, Malvern, from 1911 to 1913; and 27 Chanak Street, East Malvern, from 1913 onwards. Originally the image was assigned an estimated date range circa 1920s-1940s, however, further research into similar photographs within the collection indicate it was taken earlier.The date range for this photograph is taken from similar photograph of the Mr Harvie gardening with his daughter, Ellison Harvie, see MM 043216.
